The Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) has announced the launch of a new series of special interest forums that will provide greater opportunity for year round engagement for members to exchange valuable industry knowledge and address the key issues facing the industry.
EEAA Chief Executive, Joyce DiMascio, said the forum series will deliver a new targeted communication platform for EEAA member categories to share industry knowledge across a range of issues of common professional interest.
“The special interest forums will provide an opportunity for members of our community to drill down into the key issues and opportunities facing the industry. In addition to our major annual headline events, the forums will serve as an additional platform for greater year round engagement within the member community,” Ms DiMascio said.
Feedback to the Association has indicated that networking and the opportunity to meet peer to peer with category members is important.
“We pride ourselves on being nimble and responsive and the introduction of this new series with the first kicking off in August demonstrates our ability to be just that,” Ms DiMascio said.
“The forums will take place two to four times per year, and will be anchored to the current EEAA board meeting schedule. EEAA Members will be invited to propose items for discussion and raise issues that may have immediate and longer term impact for the industry,” Ms DiMascio said.
“The key players from the Organisers and Association Organisers within the Australian exhibitions and business events industry will gather for the first Forum on Tuesday, 20 August at HostCo, in the grounds of Sydney University. A networking session will follow with the wider EEAA member community,” Ms DiMascio said.
In addition, the EEAA will be inviting guests from within the industry, who are currently not formally part of the EEAA membership, to ensure we capture the knowledge and intelligence from the key stakeholders in the Australian market.
Following the Organiser and Association Organiser Forum, the EEAA is planning to run a special interest forum for audio visual suppliers and event technology suppliers to the exhibition industry. These Forums will run over the next 6 months, the dates to be confirmed.
