Lisa Hopkins, Chief Executive Officer at Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA), will present at the Auckland Event Organisers Summit on the 29th June at Hilton Auckland in the . Her session is titled “Finding the diamonds amongst the coal”.
One of the first sectors to be affected by COVID-19 was the multi-billion dollar business events industry. Labelled as a super spreader, the industry all but decimated across the world, suffering event cancellations, jobs losses and an unknown future.
Just six weeks into her role as Chief Executive of New Zealand’s business events industry advocacy and marketing body ‘Business Events Industry Aotearoa’ (previously known as Conventions & Incentives New Zealand), Lisa Hopkins found herself trying to support & steer the industry through the most significant crisis it had ever experienced – and in Lockdown.
One year later after all the peaks and troughs, Lisa is firmly focussed on the future with business events playing a critical role in the recovery of New Zealand and wellbeing of its citizens.
Lisa joins Cam Calkoen who will be sharing his inspirational story, Nigel Collin Chair of Meetings & Events Australia, Auckland Convention Bureau, TFE Hotels, Heritage Hotels, Spicers Retreats and others, for a day of appointment based networking, catching up with colleagues and presentations.
