Event Organisers Summit Roadshow kicks off with a successful Brisbane event.

On Friday 5th March corporate event managers, event management companies and suppliers gathered at QUT Venue Collection’s Room Three Sixty for a day of networking, tailored meetings and professional development.

Most importantly the day demonstrated the that return of business events has started, with delegates discussing dates for their events and requesting quotes for business.

Chloe Walker membership and event coordinator for The Institute of Managers & Leaders, and Samantha Ord client experience manager for slipstream coaching (both featured in the video), attended the Summit and have events planned for 2021. “I’ve got an event happening in April and I’ve got two suppliers [met at the summit] coming back to me with quotes.” Said Samantha.

“And I’ve got a couple of events coming up as well, across the New South Wales region and I’ll be getting in touch with some of those people I met today” Said Chloe.

The Summit included a day of presentations and informal networking between the meetings. “The format’s been great” said Samantha. “This is the first time I’ve attended these summits – I’ve met so many people today who can help me with my events – a huge takeaway from today. I’m so glad I came.”

“Businesses are starting to pencil in their long lead events but the short lead business is very short lead” Said Russell Peacock of Event Organisers. “So, for event management companies in particular, it may not feel like it but recovery has started.”

“The people from event management companies who attended on Friday were able to see this for themselves. The day gave them a great opportunity to speak with suppliers about contracts and safe floor layouts, and to reconnect with corporate clients to build back their businesses.” Said Russell
