Get Local success with masks and RAP tests

In a first in Australia, Get Local had all visitors and exhibitors take daily Rapid Antigen Tests administered by trained nursing staff on arrival, further instilling confidence in the safety of attending

Held over two days at the ICC Sydney in COVID Safe conditions, Get Local was the first in-person international business event exhibition held in Australia for almost two years, claim the organisers of the show Gary Bender and Donna Kessler.

“We felt it crucial that Get Local go ahead to demonstrate that events can be held safely and effectively and the feedback we have received has been overwhelmingly positive,” Ms Kessler said.

“It is imperative that businesses continue to operate and grow despite COVID-19 and as an industry event we wanted to demonstrate it can and should be done.”

Get Local had contactless registration and no handouts, brochures and no giveaways, an open floor design with plenty of space for participants to move about freely and comfortably which worked well with the COVID restrictions in place.

And, in a first in Australia, Get Local had all visitors and exhibitors take daily Rapid Antigen Tests administered by trained nursing staff on arrival, further instilling confidence in the safety of attending.

“The sold out Welcome Event at Doltone House was also an unmitigated success, and clearly highlighted that people want to come together once more,” Mr Bender said.
