Hilton has appointed Morgan Meredith as General Manager of The Imperial Gold Coast as the hotel prepares to become Australia’s first LXR Hotels & Resorts property in 2027.
Meredith brings more than 15 years of luxury hotel experience in Australia and Asia and will oversee the property during its refurbishment and repositioning. The hotel will remain open and continue accepting guests throughout the transformation.
The move will introduce Hilton’s LXR Hotels & Resorts luxury brand to the Australian market, with The Imperial joining a collection of individually styled hotels and resorts designed to retain a strong connection with their destinations.
“Returning to the Gold Coast to lead The Imperial into its next chapter is an incredible privilege,” Meredith said.
“I look forward to working with Hilton, our owners and the hotel team to shape an experience that honours the property’s heritage while celebrating the essence of its remarkable location.”
Meredith most recently served as Hotel Manager of Keraton at The Plaza in Jakarta, where she was involved in the luxury property’s renovation, repositioning and reopening. Her career has included hotel operations and leadership positions across Australia and Asia, as well as experience with property openings and major hotel transformations.
The appointment also represents a return to Hilton for Meredith, who earlier in her career held senior front office positions at Hilton Sydney.
Hilton Cluster General Manager, South East Queensland, Fiona Pryde said Meredith’s experience made her well suited to oversee the Gold Coast hotel’s transition.

“Her experience leading luxury hotels through complex renovation and repositioning projects, combined with her deep understanding of the local market, makes her exceptionally well placed to guide the property through this exciting transformation.”
Located on the Southport Spit with extensive Broadwater frontage, The Imperial Gold Coast is known for its distinctive architecture and Italian-influenced interiors.
Pryde said Meredith would have an important role in developing the guest experience ahead of the brand’s Australasian debut.
“As we prepare to introduce LXR Hotels & Resorts to Australasia, Morgan will play a pivotal role in shaping a highly personalised luxury experience that reflects the individuality of the destination,” she said.
