Representation company Tourism Portfolio has just announced the Fren family from Channel 9’s long-running Travel Guides series will be at its intimate Sydney event on February 13.
Mum and dad, Mark and Cathy, will be joined by their adult kids, Jono and Victoria, to draw prizes and share some cheeky travel stories with guests as they meet Tourism Portfolio’s international DMC clients and Australian-based venue operators.
In a video post on Instagram, Cathy said: “We’re so excited to be attending Destination Marketplace and meeting up with all of you guys.”
“Sharon and Donna have some amazing and fantastic DMCs and venues coming with lots of fun planned for the night, and we look forward to sharing some of our travel experiences with you,” Mark added.
Destination Marketplace at the Park Hyatt was created by Tourism Portfolio due to the highest number of DMCs travelling to Australia to attend AIME than ever before.
Visiting DMCs will be from New Zealand, Europe, the Americas, Africa and the Middle East.
“They will be exhibiting at AIME in Melbourne and then extending their stay in Sydney to exhibit at Destination Marketplace to meet with agencies and meeting and incentive planners who can’t attend AIME or did so and only had limited time to catch up,” said Tourism Portfolio general manager, Sharon Levingston.
Tourism Portfolio director and owner, Donna Kessler, said the signs for a strong 2025 and 2026 are all there, citing the joint Incentive Research Foundation and Society for Incentive Travel Excellence Incentive Travel Index 2024 study which found Asia Pacific planners the most positive globally of more incentive travel.
“Our DMC partners understand this, which is why they are travelling to Australia next year in record numbers,” she said.
“Destination Marketplace will provide them with a more intimate setting to meet with local planners and have a bit of fun as well with the inclusion of the Fren family. We see it as travel guides meet the travel experts!”
