Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) announced the appointment its new CEO, Peter McDonald, who brings experience from outside of the meetings sector.
“The MEA Board are excited to have Peter join us and believe he will be a great asset to both MEA and our sector.” Said MEA Chair Nigel Collin. “The decision behind the appointment was driven by the fact that he is from outside of the industry, but with a strong background in membership and associations, and with events experience.”
“I’m grateful to be given this opportunity and I look forward to working with MEA’s members and collaborating with our partners to underwrite the resurgence and collective success of the Australian events sector”, Peter McDonald said. He added “As a strong advocate for education of an industry by the industry, I also look forward to delivering events-natured vocational learning and professional development programs that students and industry practitioners alike can practically apply in the workplace.”
