A global survey by EventsAir has found event planners continue to be challenged by financial constraints and that content really is king.

The report – Navigating the State of Events: Insights and Strategies for 2025 – was compiled by EventsAir from information provided by more than 370 planners worldwide. It highlights emerging technologies, shifting attendee expectations, and key event success factors.

Almost 64 per cent of survey respondents cited budget limitations continuing to be a primary concern and their biggest challenge in event planning. It also found high-quality content was now the single most important factor for event success, with 79.7 per cent of survey respondents claiming this to be true.

Additional findings were that 95.4 per cent of event professionals rated in-person events as
either “very important” or “moderately important”, and 79.3 per cent of event professional
were now using event management software.

EventsAir chief customer officer, Renee Elliott (pictured), says the global events market is
undergoing unprecedented change driven by technology, shifting attendee behaviours and new industry challenges.

“We invested in producing this important report to provide event planners with a clear
understanding of these transformations, empowering them to adapt, innovate, and excel in this dynamic environment,” she said.

Another key finding was that 42.7 per cent of event professionals were struggling to keep
attendees engage due to increasing distractions and “digital fatigue”.
