Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) is rolling out a new grant scheme for Event Organisers looking to plan an event in the land of smiles.
The grant will give organisers access to $500k (USD) of financial support and an equivalent value in complementary services and products from participating suppliers.
The scheme is part of TCEB’s latest campaign, I M PEOPLE FOCUSED, which aims to bring international events and corporate visitors to Thailand.
According to TCEB, the campaign is “underpinned” by the 500k EASE UP grant.
This news comes as Thailand moves into its third phase of easing lockdowns, which has allowed the nation’s convention and exhibitions centres to reopen.
Thailand’s third stage restrictions mean events must comply with the regulations imposed by the Ministry of Public Health, limiting the size of events to 20,000 square metres and 200 participants.
47 Thai tradeshows are set to resume under TCEB’s new operating framework, Exhibition New Norm Standard Operation Procedures, which according to TCEB Senior Vice President, will instil confidence in international planners and visitors.
“TCEB will promote this new normal guideline to the whole exhibition business in the exhibition industry including exhibition stakeholders, exhibition professionals, service providers to follow, hence reduce the risk of spreading COVID.”
