$180 million five-star hotel & event venue planned for North Lakes

The Comiskey Group to deliver $180 million tourism

The Comiskey Group has secured the tender to deliver a $180 million tourism, events and dining precinct in North Lakes, within the City of Moreton Bay, which will include a 130-room five-star resort, premium event spaces, and boutique retail and dining.

The site takes up 1.72 hectares in the heart of North Lakes, is designed to transform the suburb into what Council describes as a “mini-James Street” — a reference to Brisbane’s high-end Fortitude Valley precinct.

“The resort will blend luxury accommodation with premium food, boutique retail, generous green spaces and event experiences to create a destination locals will love, and visitors will travel for,” said Comiskey Group Director Rob Comiskey.

Mayor Peter Flannery of the City of Moreton Bay added: “We put the call out last August for an iconic proposal that would elevate the City of Moreton Bay on the tourism map … Comiskey Group’s vision ticks every box with world-class design, genuine community benefit and serious economic horsepower for our City as we head into 2032.”

The precinct’s event facilities have been designed with business and leisure gatherings in mind — including event spaces capable of accommodating up to 800 guests.

With construction scheduled to commence in 2026, the development will bolster the region’s accommodation, conference and event capacity in the lead-up to the 2032 Summer Olympics and 2032 Summer Paralympics in Brisbane.

For the business events sector it will offer a new option for premium accommodation, large-scale function and meeting space outside Brisbane’s CBD corridor. With its luxury positioning and offering of up to 800 guest capacity event venues, it will be able to accommodate large corporate gatherings, incentive groups or conferences.
