
The Australian Gift and Homewares Association has confirmed that after nearly 2 years the AGHA Sydney Gift Fair will be held at Sydney Olympic Park on February 18-21, 2022.
For more than 2 years, industry buyers have been unable to physically see and source new products, meet face-to-face with their suppliers and network with colleagues. “For continued stability of the industry and economy, it is crucial that businesses continue to operate and grow despite Covid-19” say the show organisers.
The AGHA Board noted that retailers currently operate every day in a COVID-safe environment and have learnt to deal with COVID restrictions. They also noted that the event will be less crowded, with more open spaces and more managed with regard to participant safety, than a shopping centre.
AGHA’s CEO, Wayne Castle, stated “that by continually cancelling business-to-business events would lead to a huge shift and downturn in the way people market their businesses, make sales and communicate with clients and suppliers – it is incumbent on AGHA to help the industry thrive in a new norm”.
In previous years the event has attracted over 300 businesses and 10,000 visitors.
