Australia has secured a major international business events win, with the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) confirming it will host its global conference in the country in 2028.
The announcement marks the first time the high-profile incentive travel event will be staged in Australia, underscoring growing international recognition of the country’s capability in delivering premium corporate and incentive programmes.
The SITE Global Conference attracts senior planners, destination specialists and suppliers from around the world.
SITE ANZ’s president, Tanya Wick highlighted the contribution other parties played in winning the bid.
“Once the invitation to bid was issued to our chapter, the host destination together with Business Events Australia played a critical role in leading the bid and ultimately securing the win.” She said.
Incentive travel is one of the highest-value segments within the business events sector, with delegates typically staying longer and spending more than traditional conference attendees.
The venue and host city for the 2028 event has not yet been announced.
