Business Events Sydney (BESydney) has closed out 2025 on a high, securing a record 81 future business events, the most in its 55‑year history
The portfolio of secured events is expected to attract around 59,000 delegates who will collectively contribute approximately 253,000 delegate days to the New South Wales visitor economy. Highlights include major global gatherings such as the International Labour and Employment Relations Association World Congress 2027, the World Hydropower Congress 2027, IEEE World Congress on Services 2026 and Asia‑Pacific Circular Hotspot 2026.
BESydney Chief Executive Amanda Lampe said the result reflects the strength of Sydney’s bidding pipeline and collaboration between industry and government partners. She noted the wins span sectors including sustainability, digital innovation, scientific research and advanced manufacturing.
The announcement aligns with the NSW Government’s Visitor Economy Strategy 2035, which recognises business events as a core economic driver. Beyond tourism spend, business events support knowledge exchange, trade, investment and sector‑specific innovation.
