After years of closure due to bushfire damage and infrastructure challenges, Wolgan Valley Resort in the Greater Blue Mountains has reopened as Emirates Wolgan Valley, a Ritz-Carlton Lodge, marking a significant repositioning in Australia’s luxury resort landscape.
Located around three hours northwest of Sydney, the resort has long been known for its conservation ethos and secluded setting. Its transformation follows an approximate $50million reinvestment, refreshing all 36 private villas, dining venues, spa facilities and shared spaces while retaining the property’s environmental focus.
Each villa has bushland views and private plunge pools, redesigned to align with Ritz-Carlton’s global luxury standards. Public areas and culinary experiences have also been elevated, strengthening the resort’s appeal for premium travellers.
The relaunch presents a compelling option for small corporate retreats, board strategy sessions, incentive programmes and executive retreats. The venue accommodates buyouts, curated team experiences, guided nature activities and bespoke dining events.
Access improvements are progressing, with helicopter transfers supplementing road access where required. The resort reopens in the second or third quarter of 2026.
