The Amora Hotel Riverwalk Melbourne set the scene for the 6th and last Event Organisers Summit for 2024. The Summits are free to attend for qualifying Event Organisers looking to source suppliers on their own terms, find out new ways to navigate the business environment and develop their careers through networking.
A light breakfast greeted 60 suppliers and event planners before the start of a curated programme of speakers and targeted meetings.
Heidi Horne, a Happiness and Mindfulness Speaker, shared her personal experiences with the audience, highlighting the current distraction epidemic and demonstrating the power of resetting our thoughts in just one minute. Her unique insights left the audience inspired and motivated.
Motivationalist, keynote speaker and marathon swimmer Tammy van Wisse was the second speaker, sharing her swimming journey and how she was able to swim more than 65,000km during her long-distance swimming career.
A perfect Thursday and equally great weather set the stage for valuable networking opportunities. Event organisers engaged in fruitful discussions with suppliers and venues, fostering a sense of connection and engagement.
For Mia Monge from the Bureau of Meteorology in Melbourne, it was her first Summit. “I found it very interesting and helpful. These types of events are good for networking and picking up new tips and tricks.”
Alan Dorcey from The Nous Group, was excited about attending his first Summit. “I like expanding my network, which has a lot of value for me. It’s good to understand what is available in the market and a wider understanding of available venues and suppliers.”
Simone Mcloud from Sunshine Beach Surf Club, previously attended the Brisbane Summit. “It’s a great format. I enjoyed the one-on-one meetings. This format allows for a much more informative way of dealing with people and buyers. Our Beach Club differs from other venues, and our offering tends to surprise potential buyers, which is great.”
Michael Fleck, from Synergy Effect and Horizon Live Media, a first-time attendee, found the mix of keynote speakers and practical, shorter presentations to be highly informative. “The motivated and keen participants made the meetings mutually beneficial, leaving everyone feeling knowledgeable and informed.”
