This year Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre’s (MCEC) pastry chefs took home nine medals at the 2019 Australian Food Awards.
MCEC’s awarded products include Coconut, passionfruit and vanilla sorbet, Pistachio ice cream, Dulce de leche ice cream and more.
MCEC’s Executive Pastry Chef, Alessandro Bartesaghi said entering the Australian Food Awards enables MCEC to benchmark themselves against other large producers.
“Our success at the Australian Food Awards since its inception is testament to the talent and passion within our kitchen,” Mr Bartesaghi said.
“The awards are also an opportunity to celebrate our produce. We cater for over 1,000 events annually and everything we prepare is made fresh, in-house and by hand, using the very best locally sourced produce.”
